We don't know if Kanye West really plans to run for president in 2024.
Kanye West promises to move manufacturing of his Yeezy sneaker company back to the United States in two years, also promising to make production eco-friendly.
In conversation with Fast Company senior writer Mark Wilson, West referenced everybody from filmmaker Wes Anderson to Leonardo Da Vinci to Jesus Christ, but the focus was mostly on fashion. Do you think he'll actually change his name?
On the topic of black empowerment and speaking his truth, Kanye said, "Martin Luther King didn't get killed because he had a dream; he had something else he was gonna to talk about: black empowerment, economic empowerment". I woke up this morning, I said my prayers, I'm all doing good, I tried to talk to my dad, get him some advice.
"When I did Forbes, I showed them an $890 million receipt and they still didn't say 'billionaire, '" the rapper added, referencing the publication's recent estimation of his net worth at $240 million. "It will be on the license plate", said Ye at the festival.
West told Complex magazine in 2014: 'I remember some days we would ride around and he had vacuum cleaners [to sell] in the back and we'd be going up a hill and the vehicle would stop. "And yes, as you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president". When I run for president in 2024, we would create so many jobs that I'm not going to run, I'm going to walk. West's "what are y'all laughing at" made the situation even worse as people started laughing even more.
West has seen plenty of success in recent months though, regardless of his legal name going forward.
