Kristen Bell to Reprise Role for 'Gossip Girl' Reboot!

If you don't know, Gossip Girl is returning in a reboot form on the upcoming streaming service HBO Max.

The original show was about a mysterious blogger who shared scoops on scandals and heartache, all concerning the former students at an exclusive prep school on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Like the original series, the new iteration of Gossip Girl, written by Safran, is based on the book by Cecily von Ziegesar.

There are few actresses more obviously suited to omnipresence than Kristen Bell-currently hanging out at theFrozen 2premiere, even as her alter-ego Eleanor Shellstropwrestles with the infinite over onThe Good Place.

The new Gossip Girl series hails from original series creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The new series was announced in July with a straight-to-series order.

According to Harper's Bazaar, the show takes place eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of NY private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of "Gossip Girl".

For the producers, it sounds as though making sure Kristen Bell returned for the updated take was a top priority.

As Schwartz said: ... we would love for them to be involved if they want....

The spin-off will happen eight years after the adventures of Serena van der Woodsen (performed by Blake Energetic), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) have concluded, introducing a brand new technology of NY personal faculty teenagers to the Gossip Lady website.

"Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of NY private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl", HBO Max said in a statement.
