3 big questions following Tua Tagovailoa's injury against Mississippi State

Initial reports indicate that Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's hip injury is every bit as severe as it initially looked.

Cain says the medical team "consulted with multiple orthopedic experts across the country, who specialize in hip injuries and surgeries". He also suffered a posterior wall fracture common with hip dislocations. Hours later the school announced he has sustained a dislocated right hip. The hope is that Tagovailoa is able to make a full recovery and get back to playing the game he loves. "The main focus has been, and will remain, on Tua, his family, and making sure we are providing them the best medical care possible".

Tagovailoa's teammates tweeted pictures of him in the hospital on Sunday. ESPN sideline reporter Molly McGrath reported Tagovailoa was "screaming in pain".

The injury occurred on the same right leg that Tagovailoa had surgery on for a sprained ankle suffered earlier this season against Tennessee.

Losing Tagovailoa, a Heisman Trophy hopeful who came off the bench in the 2018 national championship game to lead the Tide to a win, could prove devastating for Alabama. During a halftime interview, Saban noted that Tagovailoa was injured on what was supposed to be his last series of the game. "We were going to put Mac in and we said 'Let's put Tua in before the half for two-minute [drill] just for practice'".
