WhatsApp introduces fingerprint lock for Android phones

WhatsApp for iPhone Might Get 2 Versions of Dark Theme Netflix Trailer Streaming Feature Arrives

New feature on WhatsApp’s Android version

WABetaInfo claims that this development has emerged after WhatsApp made a decision to re-write the Dark Theme, but at the same time it hasn't clarified if the Facebook-owned app will roll out both (or all three) to users or is only testing them right now and will later roll out only one of them. All the users who have updated the app to the latest version will get this feature.

According to Chip.com.tr, support for Android allows logging in with only fingerprints. It is possible to configure WhatsApp in such a way that you can provide fingerprint as soon as you close the app. The only major difference between the two themes is a different shade of black. WABetaInfo says that both themes share the same configuration for the Dark Bubbles.

Give it a try and let us know your experience. But, this is set to change for videos from Netflix.

Currently, WhatsApp allows its users the ability to watch videos from Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram without needing to leave the app. However, this feature is only available in the latest build of WhatsApp's iOS client, as per WABetaInfo.

To recall, the same feature was spotted in the beta version of the app back in August and within two months has been rolled out to all Android users with the stable version.

With regards to the new fingerprint unlock feature, users can also choose in how much time the app will automatically lock-in.

Editor's note: A previous version of this article incorrectly mentioned that the Netflix feature was reproducible by us.
