For 2019, Post Malone is the top-streamed artist globally. As for the most streamed songs, Sheeran's "Shape of You" took the top spot, followed by Drake's "One Dance" and Post Malone and 21 Savage's "rockstar". The Taiwanese was also the top artist here past year.
Despite this, though, Ed Sheeran wasn't the most-streamed artist of the decade- that honour went to Canadian rapper Drake- but he was the most-streamed artist in the United Kingdom in 2019.
Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, originally from Pickering, Ont., earned major recognition for Senorita, his duet with Camila Cabello.
Spotify's data also revealed some quirky facts: Modern Bollywood was the year's fastest-rising genre; the most popular mood-based playlist was "feel good", followed by "lit"; and the top podcast genre was comedy. His album Hollywood's Bleeding was the second most-streamed after Eilish's.
Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" snapped up second place with 990 million streams.
