Baltimore Ravens defensive back Earl Thomas isn't shying away from giving the Tennessee Titans some bulletin board material ahead of this weekend's AFC Divisional Round game. The 2016 Heisman victor has thrown 36 touchdown passes this season so far.
A win would send Tennessee to his first AFC Championship game since 2002 when it lost to the Oakland Raiders. Simply put, Saturday night's matchup is big.
This will be the first time five Heisman winners will dress out in the same game during the Super Bowl era, and all five could see the field during the game.
Ingram, who was with the Saints from 2011-2018, was traded to the Baltimore Ravens in 2019. In his career, Ingram has over 7,000 yards rushing and 60 TDs and has just over 1800 yards receiving with 10 TDS. The Ravens also have a deep secondary defense and a good pass defense, so they can confidently commit additional resources to avoid unless Henry gets huge races. In 2019 alone, Henry has racked up 1,540 yards and 16 TDs, while also accounting for 206 receiving yards and 2 TDs. Quarterback Lamar Jackson set an National Football League record this season for rushing with 3,296 yards.
With Jackson locked in 1.5x slot, you can also fit Derrick Henry plus either Ryan Tannehill or Mark Ingram (calf, questionable), who are projected similarly. Opposing rushers averaged a not too shabby 4.4 yards per attempt against Baltimore, the 12th highest average in the regular season.
On Friday, the Titans released a hype video with their previous running action, and let me just say that you want to run through a wall because of this (but don't really do it). Saban has proven that his strategy works, even when it doesn't always make sense.
But five of these players have a special understanding of what it means to step up and make an impact in a way that doesn't go unnoticed.
"Tannehill and Henry have made a great combo, which has proven very effective in recent weeks", Oliva said.
After all, they're #BuiltByBama.
