South Korean writer-director Bong Joon Ho also has been honored with best director and best original screenplay as well as best non-English language film for his twisty, topical thriller.
Recognition at other awards, however, have fueled excitement about the film's broader prospects, with Bong Joon-ho receiving a best director nomination from the Golden Globes, and the cast among the choices for best ensemble in the Screen Actors Guild nominations.
Parasite tells the story of the impoverished Kim family scheming their way into the wealthy Park family. If so, would you rather see a continuation of the movie or an English-language remake?
Directed by Bong and written by Bong and Han Jin Won, Parasite stars Song Kang Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, Cho Yeo Jeong, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam, Lee Jung Eun and Chang Hyae Jin.
Bong Joon-ho's statement was not just a catch for his own films - while Parasite was nearly entirely spoken in Korean, Joon-ho is no stranger to making films in English (like Snowpiercer).
The limited series project is being put together by McKay's Hyperobject Industries, Kate Street Picture Company and CJ Entertainment. CJ's Jerry Ko will be co-executive produce and CJ's Fred Lee will act as producer. The movie has also yearned $23 million at the domestic box office and $130 million globally. "Parasite" is Bong's first $ 100 million mark worldwide.
Bong, whose previous films include "Okja", "The Host" and "Snowbreaker", has been one of the most dominant names in the awards circuit 2019-20. The movie just like Parasite has been nominated for a lot of awards and is one of the best Netflix Originals.
