Sony at CES 2020 launched a new range of 4K and 8K smart Android TVs.
When it comes to 4K TVs they don't get much better than LG's OLED range, a fact that has seen many desktop gamers try their best to fit the 55-inch model on a desk. LG says its new 8K TVs, both OLED and NanoCell LCD types, use new Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI Processor, said to deliver upgraded processing power and artificial intelligence deep learning algorithms to improve picture quality and enable a host of specialised features for various types of content. It's like having a smart frame but it's more than just a digital display-it's actually a premium TV.
The addition of the Google Assistant firmly positions the Z8H in the centre of your connected home, making it more than just a source of entertainment.
What's more, LG has added two NanoCell Display that should make the prospect of owning an 8K TV a little more affordable-though LG has yet to announce pricing for any of its new models yet.
The new Z8H 8K LED comes in 85 and 75-inch models with a new Frame Tweeter technology.
With its flush surface and bezel-less look, the X95H is sure to an enormous upgrade to any home entertainment setup. For now it looks like LG owners will be limited to the Apple TV app simular to how Roku and Fire TV owners have the Appel TV app but not Air Play2 support. The X900H model is available in 85, 75, 65, and 66-inch variants.
The new Master Series A9S 48-inch OLED is welcome news for any user who would like something a bit less physically imposing than the 55-and 65-inch wall-fillers that are all that are available in most top-end lineups. The LG TVs are equipped with Dolby Vision HDR imaging, Dolby Atmos audio, and Dolby Vision IQ.
Aki Hosoda, Head of TV, Sony ANZ, has defined its next generation of TV's as being a personalised, immersive and incredibly true-to-life experience'.
The focal point of Samsung's booth was the Q950TS, a super-thin 8K TV with nearly no bezel at all. For example, TVs with this processor (11 of the devices presented this year) can guess the genre of content and automatically set the appropriate display settings or recognize individual objects in the scene and process them accordingly. We'll have to wait and see how closely USA prices follow these numbers. It has finally offered its spectacularly expensive roll-up OLED, which was teased previous year, for sale and offered two different settings for TV designs to be wall-mounted with minimal impact on the space in which they are placed are displayed.
