Saturday, Julian Edelman, Patriots' wide receiver and former Super Bowl MVP, was arrested for misdemeanor vandalism, according to TMZ.

Edelman, 33, was cited for misdemeanor vandalism and then released after damaging the vehicle by jumping onto its hood around 9 p.m. Saturday evening, police told TMZ. Edelman was released after his citation.

Edelman is set to undergo surgery on his knee and shoulder this offseason after he logged 100 receptions, 1,117 yards and six touchdowns during the regular season. But injuries took a toll.

Two weeks ago, the New England Patriots got eliminated at Gillette Stadium in the Wild Card round against the Tennessee Titans that likely could've ended a dynasty.
