Disney+'s LOKI Adds GUGU MBATHA-RAW - Report

British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw cast opposite Tom Hiddleston in Marvel's Loki series for Disney Plus

"In Marvel Studios' Loki, the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame", reads Disney+'s description of the show.

Marvel officially announced about their upcoming Disney+ series Loki. However in all seriousness, Waldron's involvement lends much more credit score to the concept that Loki will probably be a weird, twisty narrative that crosses a number of timelines and dimensions.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the actress signs on for Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

After Thor's windpipe got crushed in Avengers: infinity war and Loki died, the God of mischief got a second lease on life due to the time travel in Avengers: Endgame.

Details about Mbatha-Raw's role are under wraps, but the news site states that it is a prominent character, described as the female lead.

Kevin Feige previously shared that the Loki series will also tie into Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Debuts on Disney+ next year-2021.

In addition to Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino are also part of the "Loki" cast. The Falcon and Winter Soldier is now set to be the first Marvel Studios series to debut on Disney Plus.

Loki will premiere on Disney+ in spring 2021. She also starred in A Wrinkle in Time as Dr. Kate Murray as well as in the live-action Beauty and the Beast as Plumette.

Marvel released a brief teaser for the series during Super Bowl LIV alongside footage from other upcoming Marvel shows such as The Falcon and the Winter Solider and WandaVision.
