NewsHistoric First Nations talk set for tomorrow
First Nations leaders from all across Canada will meet in Ottawa tomorrow to discuss aboriginal affairs with Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Vancouver Island North MP and Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Minister John Duncan will be in attendance at the summit. "It's an important day because we have the Prime Minister fully engaged in aboriginal issues for the day." The historic summit will focus on jobs and economic growth explained Duncan. "That's where we would like to put the emphasis, and of course, a big part of the current discussion all relates to the focus on education." Duncan admits other issues will make their way to the table but the talks will try to remain focused on the key issues. The Crown First Nations Gathering begins tomorrow in Ottawa.
