Comox Valley Man Dead in Mexico
Foreign Affairs Canada has confirmed a B.C. man has been found dead in Mexico.
This, after reports that Comox Valley resident Ron Lloyd Mackintosh was discovered dead yesterday in a coastal town south of Puerto Vallarta. Mackintosh also has close ties to the Nanaimo area and Parksville, where he worked for Koers and Associates Engineering.
A statement says officials at the Canadian consulate are assisting his family, but does not provide further details.
Investigations in Mexico continue.
Mackintosh's girlfriend reportedly told police last month he was missing, last seen in the nearby area of Melaque in his jeep. His disappearance was a hot topic among other ex-pats through a popular online bulletin board in Mexico's Lake Chapala area.
Another B.C. man, Robin Wood, from Saltspring Island, was fatally shot in the area January during a home invasion.
