Comox Valley Week in Crime: sudden death, fridge thief

A Comox resident has died suddenly at a home on the 1100 block of Parry Place. The BC Coroners Service is investigating but has revealed no foul play to date. The death is believed to be related to a possible medical condition.

Shoplifting has featured heavily in this week's crime report. Attempted or successful thefts of clothing, perfume, cosmetics and one stroller-full of goods have been reported by Safeway, Penningtons, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs
 
Meanwhile, a man is accused of trying to steal a fridge from a woman's home on Forbidden Plateau, on Sunday, 20 May.

A car left unlocked, with a key hidden inside, was reported stolen from the 7800 block of the Island Highway North in Black Creek. The car was eventually found in Campbell River after being driven into the ditch. This investigation is continuing.

On May 15th a motorcycle was stolen from the 2600 block of Meadowbrook Court in Courtenay. Sometime in the last week someone stole the black and green Kawasaki motorcycle from the back yard. The motorcycle was unlocked and leaning against a tree.

On Monday, as May Long Weekend festivities wrapped up, police received a report of a broken window in the upper floor of the Waverly Hotel in Cumberland. Nobody went in and nothing was taken.
